GIVING BACK, THE ZOO AND BACK TO SCHOOL
Summer is coming to an end and school is back, but we are still doing fun trips, getting outside, and setting the students up to start off the school year the right way.
A Day At The Zoo
One trip we were able to take this summer was a trip to the Iron P Homestead Zoo located in Hogansville, Georgia. The owners of the zoo have been long time supporters and always make our trips with students an unforgettable outing. By being a local zoo, they are able to offer a unique experience where students get personal tours, up-close encounters with the animals, and the opportunity to ask questions and learn new and exciting information about the animals. The students love it and we love the opportunity to get them outdoors to try new things and learn while having fun in a safe environment. We cannot thank them enough for having us and look forward to visiting again!
Giving Back
This summer also provided opportunities for our students to give back by helping take care of the yards of the elderly in our community. Throughout the summer different groups of students cut the grass and did yard clean up to help give back and take ownership in taking care of their neighborhoods. These opportunities help teach the kids the importance of becoming agents of change in their communities and we hope to continue these service projects with our mentorship program throughout the year.
Back To School
It is always a little said for summer vacation to end, but we believe in making starting a new school year fun too! This year we were able to fill up backpacks and make a fun day of letting the kids pick out supplies to help set them up for success. It has been an amazing summer and we believe it will be an amazing school year too!
If you would like to be a part of helping provide more opportunities for kids that can INSPIRE HOPE, GET INVOLVED or DONATE today!
