"To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles"

- Mary Davis

We had a great time taking some of our students to the Hope Farm for some outdoor therapy during their school break. It was full of laughter, new experiences with four wheelers and chickens, along with some great time exploring the property. Our students are excited to know they have a place for adventure, fun, and refreshment away from their normal circumstances.

While at the farm, the students were able to enjoy fun while also learning new skills through designed challenges. This trip, there was a fire making contest and a shelter making contest. The kids were shocked to have NO GOOGLE to look up instructions. We divided into teams and had a few tools and a forest full of natural resources to use. Each team was able to practice critical and creative thinking by working together to accomplish their goals, and each team was successful. It was inspiring  to watch firsthand the power of giving kids the opportunity to create something new from start to finish and see the self pride they gained from realizing that THEY CAN DO IT!

Our desire is to continue these trips to further develop the belief and realization that anything is possible. By getting outside and doing new things, students can see their progress and their capabilities which can lead to life altering confidence and accomplishments. It might seem small to some, but we believe that our students will remember the time they built their first fire on their own and they will remember that we believe they can do anything they put their minds to.

We are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy this special property, and we cannot wait to keep creating new memories and seeing lives changed one trip and conversation at a time. If you would like to help us continue these adventures, donate today!
