It is always fun to get to spend quality time together and try new things, but it is EXTRA fun when cake is involved! We had an awesome afternoon teaching some of our middle school girls how to bake a pound cake. The girls were able to practice math while measuring ingredients, the skill of following step-by-step instructions, and gain the sense of accomplishment that comes with creating something from scratch. The girls took turns working on each step of the delicate baking process together and helped each other when they faced a challenge. They faced each unknown head-on and worked together as a team to create something delicious we good all enjoy together.
