SUMMER BEGINS
SUMMER IS HERE! Everyone loves summer, but we especially love two months full of extra fun adventures, no school, and summer night hangs. This summer started off fast and we had a packed first month full of days at the Hope Center, Around The World Days, and some inspiring Outdoor Therapy trips.
Around The World
It’s Summer 2026 and we are bringing back on of our students favorite summer programs, “Around The World” (ATW). Staff and volunteers spend time with groups of 15-20 kids discussing countries that they have been to and share their personal experiences. Through personal stories, pictures, videos, food, crafts, and games students are transported around the world for days of learning about new people, places, and cultures. This program is one that the kids talk about, remember, and look forward to because it is engaging and lets students learn about new things in a fun way. Our favorite part is seeing their faces when they learn a bizarre fact about another way of life and seeing their reactions to trying food from different cultures. Each week students look forward to a new country and always ask, “where are we traveling to next week”.
Our hope is that this program makes the summer memorable, gives the kids something to look forward to each week while on break, and ultimately opens their minds to the grandness of the world to help them realize that the world is a big place full of infinite possibility.
Outdoor Therapy
Sunshine, warm weather, and no school means that we are OUTSIDE! Outdoor Therapy has become one of our most impactful programs and we love getting to take it to the next level during summer break. Blue spaces of any time of water is our main goal this summer and getting the kids to push their limits with exploring nature. Pools, creeks, waterfalls, oceans, rivers, lakes, and even water balloons are helping us stay cool this summer while we enjoy the healing powers of being outside and enjoying the world together.
We are grateful to have 3 summer interns and 4 student junior interns this summer to help us make it one we never forget! We have many more adventures planned for the rest of the summer so keep a look out for updates.
