A Very Merry Christmas
Christmas is always a magical time of the year. This Christmas season was packed full of festivities, recognizing accomplishments, and giving back to the community and to those who needed a helping hand this season.
Christmas Time At The Hope Center
Christmas at The Hope Center is a time full of fun seasonal festivities. This year we did Christmas crafts, made new ornaments for decorating the tree, and overall enjoyed the holiday spirit together. We were also able to have our 3rd annual girls Christmas movie night, this year featuring trying something new for our movie snacks, making chocolate covered treats. The season goes by fast but we try our best to make each moment about traditions and making core memories together. “It’s our Christmas tradition”, is something we heard multiple times this year which may seem small, but it is the manifestation of building lasting bonds and doing life together.
Although it’s is a special time of year, it can be a difficult time for many in our community. Each year we want to help in any way that we can, while also ensuring that the parents also feel seen and empowered. This year Church of the Highlands generously donated thousands of dollars worth of gifts and we were able to allow parents to come and “shop” for free for their children. It provided an opportunity to bless those who needed it this season, while also allowing parents to still enjoy the moments of being “Santa” for their kids. We are so grateful for Church of the Highlands for making this possible! Curating opportunities to remember what Christmas is truly about and continuously sharing the Gospel of Jesus’ birth is what makes Christmas an inspirational season every year.
Mentorship Awards
This Christmas break, we were able to recognize our students that have show their dedication in our Mentorship Program and put in the work to accomplish their goals. We held an awards ceremony were parents and peers were invited to hear about the Mentorship Program and see the students receive their certificates of completion for 2025. It was an inspiring night and made us even more excited for the Mentorship Program for 2026.
We also had a reward night for some of the girls in the program which included them choosing a new experience they wanted to do together. They chose iceskating! It ended up being a bigger challenge than anticipated with mixed reviews, but it was a night we will never forget full of laughs and trying something new together.
