Thanksgiving Break Adventures
Thanksgiving break 2026 was full of adventures and making new memories together. During breaks from school we are able to spend extra time on our Mentorship Program by cultivating new experiences, Outdoor Therapy trips, and moments for inspiring conversations. This break was no exception and we are thrilled to be able to share about our awesome week together.
Outdoor Therapy In Chattanooga
This Thanksgiving break, we were able to take multiple groups of young men in our Mentorship Program to Chattanooga TN for an Educational Outdoor Therapy trip. There is something that happens mentally and emotionally with our students when we get them outside of their normal environment. Taking time away from stress triggers that they deal with on a daily basis provides them the ability to relax, learn, and explore in a positive atmosphere.
During this trip the students were able to learn history on battlefields and explore the wilderness and trails in Chattanooga for the first time. After huge days of learning and exploring, the nights were spent bonding and having empowering conversations while learning new board games and hanging out together. Some of the biggest moments were talking about future goals and dreams around the campfire and how to make those dreams a reality. Overall, these trips will go down in our history as some of the best we have had yet. We are proud of our boys for getting out of their comfort zones and finding new ways to be inspired, equipped, and empowered.
New Skills Unlocked
While some of our students were enjoying Chattanooga, we also had fun adventures back at home. One of the biggest aspects of our Mentorship Program is learning new skills together. During the break we were able to have students from our program work together to try new things. We had a fun night of candle making and another fun day of baking from scratch. It is a special bonding experience when our mentors try new things they have never done with the students, so that the students can know that we are all doing something new together. Our staff had never done these activities either, so it made our students enjoy figuring out the step-by-step process, following instructions, making some mistakes, and accomplishing something together. We all had a wonderful time full of laughs and can officially say that we have unlocked some awesome new skills.
