Daily Summer Lunch Program

This summer “The Hope Center” is open to the community throughout the week and provides a safe, fun, and beneficial place for kids of all ages to enjoy different programs. One of these programs is our Lunch Program that is available 5 days a week during the summer. Through collaboration with “Bridging The Gap” and partnerships with local churches and other volunteer groups from the community, we are able to provide over 3,500 meals in total. The underserved families of the community have many needs and it is our hope to meet as many of those needs as possible, while inspiring, equipping, and empowering them with the tools they need to succeed. One way we accomplish this is through these programs. No child deserves to go hungry and during the summer when they do not have school lunches provided, many of them do not have regular meals throughout the day. This program allows a place for any child in the community to come and eat a free meal while enjoying the fun of the Hope Center. It also provides an opportunity for many of the children that regularly attend the Hope Center to give back by helping prepare and serve the meals along side the other volunteers. Providing a meal and a friendly face is one practical way of meeting a need and we want to thank all of the volunteers and sponsors that made this program possible. If you would like to participate in other programs like this in the future, please check out our volunteer page!
